Mavens Overview

Located in the middle of the Fremont Street Experience. The Fremont offers a nice no-frills place to stay in downtown Vegas. Friendly staff and low table minimums make the Fremont a good choice for someone more interested in gambling than going to shows or sitting around a large swimming pool.

One of the Fremont's claim to fame is the fact that Wayne Newton started his Vegas career at the Fremont. Presently there is no live entertainment at the Fremont. Another bit of movie trivia, is that several of the interior casino scenes from the movie "Swingers" were filmed at the Fremont.

Internet Buzz

Rooms are spartan but clean. Housekeeping service is good and the hotel and casino staff are friendly. Hotel check-in is quick. The casino is smoky. Blackjack pays 3:2 instead of the common Strip payout of 6:5. Low table minimums.

Hotel Overview

The recently renovated hotel rooms are small, 240 to 290 square feet, but clean and comfortable. The beds are triple sheeted and very comfortable. Suites are 544 square feet and have a small seating area plus a coffee maker. Unlike Strip Hotels, there isn't a miles long walk from the casino to your room.

Shows

No live entertainment at the fremont, just gambling. Fremont Experience in front of casino.

Restaurants

Second Street Grill
A surprisingly good restaurant featuring seafood and steaks prepared with a Pacific Rim influence. Newly added specials make this restaurant even more reasonable priced. Complete T-Bone Steak Dinner $18.99 or Prime Rib Dinner $16.99 More, please.

A mediocre buffet. Seafood night tends to be crowed. Part of the seating in the room is set aside for the Cafe, where you can order items off of a coffee shop type menu.

Lanai Express
Featuring Chinese food served cafeteria style, plus hot dogs and hamburgers.

Tony Roma's
The national chain known for barbeque ribs. Steak & Lobster daily special 9pm-11pm $11.99
