Mavens Overview

The Fountains of Bellagio are at the top of nearly every list of "Things to do in Las Vegas" Even Steven Spielberg calls it "The greatest single piece of public entertainment on Planet Earth".

In the summer of 1995, Steve Wynn asked the appropriately named design firm 'WET Design' to design a fountain for the front of Bellagio. His objective was a work that would be large and commanding in scale, with kinetic and musical features. Above all, the fountain was to express 'The Spirit of Romance' Anyone that has seen the Fountain Show would have to agree that WET Design did a wonderful job.

A few words about the Technology: The fountain utilizes 1200 nozzles and 4,500 white incandescent lights. There are three types of water shooters: Shooters; Super Shooters (shoots 240 feet high); Extreme Shooters (shoots water 460 feet high) plus Oarsmen Jets which are designed to bend and weave in an infinite array of gestures, responding to the most subtle elements of the music. Fog is used to amplify the atmospheric elements of the music.

Featured Music:

Con Te Partiro (Time To Say Goodbye) Andrea Bocelli and Sara Brightman
All That Jazz (From Chicago)
Fly Me To The Moon - Frank Sinatra
Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini - Rachmaniov
Singin in the Rain - Gene Kelly
Viva Las Vegas - Elvis Presley
Holiday - Modonna
Plus others, new musical pieces are added regularly.

As with Vegas itself, the fountains are best viewed at night.

Internet Buzz

To tell the truth, I prefer this free show to many paid shows in Vegas. I must have seen it more than 10 times and it still amazes me. The coordination of music, water, and light is spectacular.

If I'm grumpy, in a bad mood, or angry at someone---just put me in front of the Bellagio Fountain Show and I'll be happy and forget everything. This show makes me smile every time. My favorite show is 'Time To Say Goodbye'

The ultimate Romantic Backdrop.

This is one of the Best Attractions in Vegas, Free or Not...My favorites are Singin in the Rain' and 'One' (from A Chorus Line)

Yes, so it's the most touristy thing in Vegas. But after staying in a Bellagio Room that looked down over the fountains, I can only love these things.

What can I say, it's awesome, especially at night.
